A slightly mysterious festival, not even sure what to expect exactly.. got a good feeling about this one though. I play here on Saturday afternoon Sept. 9. I’m aiming for a tropical pyschedelic tribal and sun drenched set inspired by the moment, the place, the people the trees the birds and the spirits of the woods!
After a visit to the colourful city Marseille I was inspired to make a fresh summer mix! Reflecting the lyrical spicy multicultural atmosphere of this wonderful city.. a city where people live outside, drink, cover the walls with art, dance in the dark by the sea, carry their instruments across town on their back to play a gig somewhere, get a slice of hot pizza on the way or stop for some wine at a bar where they meet an old friend. Raw, dark, sunny, messy and allive..
A short and funky mixtape to warm up a summer party! No rules just funky eclectic feelgood grooves, latin, electro swing, funky soul & some afro pop. Unpretentious fun!
Just got back from Scotland playing at Secret Farm Fest near Aberdeen.. After surprisingly sunny hot days over there I’m back in flat good old Holland to Play at Surfana Festival on the 22nd of June at the beach off course.. near Bloemendaal. Time for some more hot tropical grooves! Feelgood Summer days!
Yes! I’ve taken the time to delve deeply into the reggae scene of New Zealand. I have family there and I’ve travelled around the north and south for a couple of months when I was 18.. I quickly found out there was a lively reggae scene there but never really looked much further then the usual suspects, such as Fat Freddy’s Drop & the Black Seeds. Now that I have I’ve found a lot more pearls in a genre I already loved. So I made a mixtape celebrating the diverse kiwi reggae sound which includes spacey dub, rock, disco funk, mariachi style brass and some cripsy electronic vibes.
A feelgood mixtape for the summer days ahead! Enjoy 🙂
I’m back at one of my favorite festivals, the Afro Caribbean Festival in Belgium. Happy to be part of this great line-up! Some great bands which I’ve been a fan of for while like Terrakota from Portugal, the Afro Beat master Orlando Julius and the rousing, explosive Dub Pistols! And to make thing even more exciting I’m doing the final set after the last band… what an honour!
I still love playing outdoors at festivals best of all! More space more freedom to move and people are already in a party mood. This was at Dutch Liberation Day in Utrecht May the 5th. Sharing the DJ booth with Tommi el Mariachi & MPS Pilot.. playing for the Bombascha freedom stage.. we had a lot of fun!
Time for some feelgood Springtime party energy! Here’s a fresh mixtape of mine to celebrate the blooming of flowers, the return of the sun.. with grooves from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, India, France, Congo & NYC!
Yep! Feeling inspired so here’s another mixtape.. A sensual jazzy journey this time. A tribute to the seductive femine vibe and the feelgood early days of Spring! Vintage Swing, Jazz Manouche, French and Brazilian vibes.. some funky Soul and a few drops from a bottle tasteful Electronica to balance out the nostalgia 😉 Enjoy!
I’m going for nice and funky to kick off the springtime vibes!
This is my take on modern clubby funk.. It has that juicy big bass but every track also has warmth melody, roots & spice! The way I like it best 🙂 Enjoy the sun and dance to funky renegades!
